Easter 2008

Easter was fun filled this year with a whole day of eating, hunting for Easter eggs, opening Easter baskets (3 of them to count), and fun with the family. We started out the day by meeting the Drains and the Stouts for brunch in the morning. The Easter bunny made an appearance there but it didn't go over to well again, as you can see. Then we headed to our house afterwards where Katie helped Maddy find all the Easter Eggs the Easter Bunny hid that Maddy could not find herself. Then all the kids searched high and low for their Easter baskets, eventually finding them, opening them and playing with their new toys all day long. Joe's family then arrived around 3:00 to share in the festivities. Maddy recieve many more Easter gifts from her Auntie Debbie and cousins and Gram and Papa V. (Joe and I were joking at the end of the day that Easter was like having a second Christmas....Did anyone else feel that way??????) And then we ate some more. Maddy wore her dress all day and looked absolutely adorable in it, as you can also see.......10 minutes into having it on we did get a little chocolate on it but mommy got it out right away. It is fun having a house now and being able to host family events with everyone. We think everyone had a really great time, and we did too!

Mommy's 29th Birthday

On Saturday we celebrate mommy's 29th Birthday. We went to Grandpa and Grandma Stout's house, ordered dinner out, had cake and opened presents. At first mommy wasn't so enthusiastic about turning 29 but then she realized she better make the most of the last year she has in her 20's. Somehow I think the smile Maddy gets when everyone sings Happy Birthday, because she always thinks we are singing for her, will help to keep mommy young. Thank you to everyone for all the nice cards, phone calls, e-mails etc. I am so lucky to have so many wonderful friends!

Auntie Ela and Uncle Paul's House

This weekend we paid a long overdue visit to Auntie Ela and Uncle Paul's house. Maddy had so much fun playing video games with the boys (and watching them drink their oversized beers, as you can see), while mommy and Auntie Ela chatted away. Be sure to check out Maddy's very cool vintage style t-shirt, which highlights Dirty Dancings famous phrase, Nobody puts baby in the corner. Auntie Ela gave this to Maddy and Maddy made sure to pick it out special to wear on this very day. Maddy had so much fun and her mommy and daddy did too!

Easter Bunny Terror

This past Saturday morning we took Maddy to the mall to find her Easter Dress, and much to our surprise, we totally forgot the Easter Bunny was going to be there for pictures. We were the third customers in line as the Easter Bunny started to head our way. The look on Maddy's face at first was filled with utter curiosity and astonishment....but as you can see that turned into pure terror (so the picture shows). This happened immediately as Joe sat Maddy on the Easter Bunny's lap. We snapped a quick picture and chuckled at her reaction. And for the rest of our afternoon at the mall if we even so much headed in the direction the Easter Bunny was in she would start to cry. The picture is kind of hard to see but you get the jist.
